Two years ago Junichi Tachibana got stood up for the biggest date of his life. It’s taken him a whole two years to overcome the traumatizing experience. But now Junichi’s opening up to the idea of getting a new girlfriend. Every four episodes is a mini-arc, where Junichi develops a romantic relationship with a different cutie at school. His first brush with love is with none other than Haruka Morishima, the quirky school idol. Junichi tries to convince her to go out with him, but it’s tough when the only thing Haruka seems to love are cute puppies! Then it’s time to tumble with the rough ‘n tough Kaoru Tanamachi, Junichi’s best friend since middle school. If Haruka and Kaoru weren’t challenges enough, Junichi’s next love interest is quite possibly the shiest girl in the whole school. Junichi is more than making up for lost time as he tries to woo several of the cutest and craziest girls on campus!

Junichi apologizes for breaking up the fight. As they talk about Keiko’s failed relationship, the conversation turns towards themselves. Kaoru isn’t happy with her current relationship with Junichi and isn’t afraid to say so. She jumps onto him, pretending that she’s going to give him a big kiss on the lips. Unfortunately, Junichi’s attempt to get away from her turns that fake kiss into a real one! Kaoru’s furious at losing her first kiss, but she’s not the only one! Junichi tells her to visit him in the school library, where he intends to get payback. At the library, Junichi tells Kaoru she has to let him kiss her belly button. Later that evening, Kaoru sees her mother with some strange man on her way to work...

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s past time for Junichi to ask Kaoru if she’ll spend Christmas Eve with him. He knows time is of the essence, but he just can’t bring himself to do it. Luckily for him, he has two very understanding friends. Keiko and Masayoshi set up the perfect environment for asking an old friend out on a romantic date. On Christmas Eve, Junichi waits outside for Kaoru at their agreed upon meeting spot. After half an hour passes and no Kaoru, Junichi’s convinced she’s never going to show up. Just as he’s about to give up, Kaoru comes running up! Apparently it took her longer to get dressed than she’d planned. The two go to the newly constructed Port Tower for their date. While there, they reflect on the good old days and make promises for their future. They have so much fun that time slips away and Kaoru misses the last bus home. With no way to get home until morning, she gets to spend the night with Junichi! At long last, the two have become more than just friends.

One day Junichi drops his wallet without realizing it. Sae Nakata picks it up and tries to give it back to Junichi, but various obstacles keep getting in the way. After she finally succeeds in grabbing his attention and returns the wallet, she gets so nervous she runs off. Junichi wants to give Sae a proper thank you and asks Miya for help finding the girl. As timing would have it, Sae just so happens to walk up to Miya in the middle of the conversation. Miya introduces the shy new transfer student to her brother and he finally gets to thank her for returning his wallet. After school, Junichi and Miya visit the cafe restaurant Kaoru works at. While there, Junichi discovers that Miya would like to work as a waitress, but she’s too shy to pass the interview portion of the application process. Since Junichi’s an over-all good guy, he decides to help Sae prepare for the interview. He decides to take on the role of “Instructor” as he helps her train to become a waitress.

Junichi is going all-out to help Sae prepare for her job interview. From speed changing to a unique mock interview, everything manages to take on an erotic tinge. After a mock interview in a warm springs, Sae goes over to Junichi’s house to for more training. But Miya asks if they can play a board game that oddly simulates real life. The three have so much fun playing the game that they completely loose track of time. It’s too late for Miya to go back home, so she spends the night together with Miya and Junichi. Much to Junichi’s delight, he gets to overhear Miya and Sae talk about Sae’s bosom while the two girls bathe together. Just before bedtime, Junichi tells Sae that he wishes she could be his little sister. Sae, on the other hand, flatly states that she doesn’t want to be his sister.

Sae’s training draws to an end once she goes to take the ever-dreaded job interview. Junichi accompanies her to the restaurant, eager to hear the results. All of their hard work has paid off, for Sae managed to get the job! The story jumps to the near future, when Junichi, Miya and a couple of their friends visit the restaurant and have Sae wait on them for the very first time. Junichi misses having Sae as his student, but he’s proud of how well she’s handling herself. Sae asks Junichi out on a date at an amusement park, where she asks him to enter the Best Couple Contest with her. Junichi decides that if they’re entering, they’ve just got to win! They use this new goal as an excuse to fall back into their instructor-student relationship.

At long last, it’s time for the Founder’s Festival! Sae as prepared a beautiful wedding dress and tux for the Best Couple Contest. Even though everyone in the audience is awe-struck by Junichi and Sae, they wind up only getting second place. They win tickets for two in a private booth at the movie theatre. Junichi wants to tell Sae how he feels for her while they’re at the theater, but he’s still afraid of what might happen if she turns him down. Junichi gets a small push on the back from none other than the director of the movie they’re about to see! Supposedly the director was able to capture the lead actress’ beauty to the fullest because he was in love with her. Junichi tells Sae that he’ll become her director and make her look beautiful on film because he loves her. Their relationship has transformed from instructor-student to lovey-dovey director-actress!

On his way to the boy’s restroom in the park, Junichi catches a glimpse of Ai Nanasaki’s undies as she jumps off her swing. Ai is quick to accuse him of sexual harassment. After pathetic attempts to explain his innocence, she finally decides to announce that she was just joking. As if that run in wasn’t bad enough, each time Junichi bumps into Ai, something bad happens! From holding up the line to getting caught near the swimming pool when it was off limits, their timing seems to be the worst! Despite all their unfortunate encounters, Ai invites Junichi grocery shopping with her. While shopping, Junichi discovers how Ai isn’t quite as cold and harsh as she likes to let on.

Junichi discovers that Ai is having a hard time in math. If she doesn’t pass an upcoming retake, she’ll have to take extra math classes. That in turn means that she would have to quit the swim team. Luckily for Ai, Junichi just so happens to be surprisingly good in math and is willing to offer a helping hand. In the middle of one of their study breaks, Ai asks Junichi if he could give her some advice on how to deal with her younger brother. Although Junichi isn’t able to give an immediate answer, he is willing to stew over it for her. A while later Junichi is able to come up with an answer for how Ai should deal with her little brother. Ai then tells Junichi that she passed the math exam. As a token of her thanks, Ai gives Junichi a toy she had originally bought for her brother. The two have fun playing with it in the park.

Ai and Junichi spend the day at a theme park. It may seem like any old theme park, but the Pharaoh’s Mystery horror house is rather unique. The evil pharaoh transforms Ai into a bowel of ramen! When Junichi asks the pharaoh to turn her back, he sprays a mist on Junichi that brainwashes him. Now the only thought on his mind is how delicious Ai looks! Ai better turn back to normal and quick! After their trip to the theme park, Ai takes Junichi to the park where they first met. Ai suddenly kisses Junichi, leaving him completely bewildered. The next day, Ai invites Junichi grocery shopping when he tries to confront her about the kiss. The plan was to go shopping after Ai’s swim practice, but not everything goes according to plan when Ai learns that she didn’t make the cut for the upcoming tournament. It’s up to Junichi to console a horribly distressed young lady…

Ai and Junichi are manning the Girl’s Swim Team oden stall at the Founder’s Festival. They must prove to the Tea Club that they have mastered the traditional oden flavoring that the swim team is famous for. After proving themselves, the oden sells like there’s no tomorrow and before long, they are completely sold out. Once the festival is over, Ai takes Junichi to a secret warm spring in the mountains. While there, she confesses her love for Junichi. At long last, the two are finally able to admit their feelings for one another.

Rihoko and Junichi are childhood friends, going way back to preschool. Junichi may not realize it, but Rihoko has secretly held romantic feelings for him ever since they were little. On one cold morning Rihoko decides to take a shortcut to school since she’s running late. All she has to do is slide through a hole in the fence and she’ll make it to class on time. Unfortunately, Rihoko is just pudgy enough that she can’t quite get through. She’s stuck in the hole, unable to pull out through either direction. As she’s struggling to get free, none other than Junichi comes running up. Apparently he was running even later than Rihoko! Junichi helps Rihoko out of the hole, but makes more than a few mean jokes about her weight. Rihoko has a deep love for food and her ever-increasing weight clearly reflects as much. Determined to get through the hole in the fence without needing help, Rihoko decides to resume her diet. But it can be hard keeping a diet when there’s so many good snacks everywhere…

Rihoko, Junichi and some of their friends all go ice-skating together. The purpose of the trip was to get some good physical exercise while having fun, but Rihoko couldn’t skate to save her life. While trying to help her out, Junichi accidentally gets a good grab at Rihoko’s breast. Now he’s starting to realize just how womanly she’s become. Meanwhile, the Tea Club’s president and vice president are concerned for the fate of their beloved club. Once they graduate in the spring, Rihoko will be the only club member left. The club has to have at least two members or it will get shut down… Since Rihoko is constantly telling all of her friends about Junichi, naturally the club president and vice president know all about him. They ask him to help them during the Founder’s Festival in the hopes of getting him to join the club and maybe hook him up with Rihoko. Junichi has a wonderful time helping the Tea Club at the Founder’s Festival, but tells Rihoko he isn’t ready to join the club…

With the Founder’s Festival and Christmas over, next up is New Year’s! Rihoko gathers up all of her courage and asks Junichi if he’ll visit the local shrine on New Year’s Eve together with her. He is quick to give the okay, but thinks of it as a date with a friend rather than as a real date. Miya, Junichi and Rihoko spend New Year’s Eve together at Junichi’s house. They have a great time goofing off together, but are dead asleep when it’s time to head over to the shrine. The next day the three visit the shrine. While there, Rihoko makes a few wishes. She wishes that her diet will be a success, that she’ll find a new member for the Tea Club and that Junichi will realize how she feels.

She still believes that story Ruriko told her about how people used to give choux creams as a present when proposing to their beloved. With her deadline at hand, Rihoko still hasn’t found a new recruit for the Tea Club. Just as things seem hopeless, Junichi announces that he’ll join the club.

When some of the girls from their class see Tsukasa and Junichi eating lunch together, they tell everyone that they’re stuck helping because Tsukasa was too busy flirting to do her job. After everything she said, it’s no surprise that most of the students decided to stop helping prepare for the festival. If they don’t get more help soon, they’ll be forced to cancel some of the events. Junichi convinces Tsukasa that she should apologize and ask for help once more.
