Here's a special "Message from the Director" treat for you guys!
I asked Ghost Hound director Janice Williams if she had a few words about the dub that the fans might find interesting. As you can see, this not a show to miss!
From Janice Williams
My audio engineers were blown away by the sound design of the show. The "background" sounds are almost a piece of art in and of themselves. They really bring a lot to the story, beyond what good sound design normally does. I mean, of course, a show wouldn't be the same without the sounds of doors closing, footsteps, explosions, etc. But this show goes beyond that. The sound effects become a part of the storytelling. It's unique (to me anyway) in that regard.
Several of my cast choices are against type. For instance, Monica Rial normally plays teen to middle age women, but her character (Himeko Ogami) is an elderly grandmother, though not a very grandmotherly grandmother, if you know what I mean.
I believe this is Clint Bickham's first lead role, and he did an excellent job of making Taro Komori believable and sympathetic.
I know it's Corey Hertzog's first lead (Masayuki Nakajima). He's been in very little for us prior to this. Though some of the stuff he did after this has already been released. (He has several episodic roles in Golgo 13, for instance.)
